Nearly all selective colleges and universities practice a holistic applications review. At Hamilton Education, we offer expert help in building a smart college strategy and creating compelling college applications. We want schools to be excited about your story, so we help you navigate through the process to reflect your achievements, aspirations and character.
College Counseling – More Than a Score
Start with a Strategy
Beginning as early as the 9th grade, we work with students to get a sense of their college goals and how they can best prepare to achieve them through their high school years. Each student meets with Mr. Hamilton for a complimentary consultation at which we get to know the student and share our philosophy. At the turn of the 11th grade, students begin to work more intensively on telling “their story” and complete their college applications throughout the summer and into fall.
Junior Counseling Program
We offer a variety of packages for rising Juniors to receive focused advice and support during the crucial Junior year. Students may choose from a variety of options providing either a few hours or more extensive hands-on guidance. Many students combine their SAT and test preparation with a counseling package. Sophomore and Junior years are crucial for laying out a plan identifying the student’s college application essay story and for pursuing activities that will keep students on track to their goal school.
Senior Counseling Program
As a rising Senior, it is time to identify the student’s strengths and weaknesses, identify their pick list of schools, and begin framing the essay for their college application. Many schools now require brag packets for their students, that aid teachers and other adults in providing letters of recommendation.
At Hamilton Education, there are a variety of hour-based package options for working with Mr. Hamilton and Hamilton experts to build a strong application essay and package. All prospective students and a parent are required to complete an introductory interview prior to signing up for a college counseling package. There is no charge for the introductory session, but if a student signs up for a counseling package, the time for this initial meeting will be included in any package selected.
